Posters come in many sizes — but how many pixels do you actually need? This guide covers the most common poster dimensions in inches and pixels, at 300, 200, and 150 DPI.
Common poster sizes
Poster size | 300 DPI | 200 DPI | 150 DPI |
---|---|---|---|
24×36 in | 7200×10800 | 4800×7200 | 3600×5400 |
18×24 in | 5400×7200 | 3600×4800 | 2700×3600 |
12×18 in | 3600×5400 | 2400×3600 | 1800×2700 |
Viewing distance matters
The bigger the poster, the further away it’s viewed. That’s why 150–200 DPI is acceptable for large prints — your eyes won’t notice the missing detail.
